A strong injury threatens Dybala’s participation in the World Cup

AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho confirmed that Argentine striker Paulo Dybala suffered a serious injury during his 2-1 home win over Lecce in Serie A on Sunday and may not be able to play until the end of the year.

Dybala left the field following scoring the winning goal from a penalty kick in the 48th minute, and it appeared that he was suffering from a muscle problem, and the medical device placed ice on his left thigh.

“Dybala is in a bad state, if not very bad, unfortunately,” Mourinho told the Dzon platform.

The Portuguese coach added that he imagines the difficulty of Dybala’s return to play before 2023, which threatens his participation in the World Cup in Qatar, which begins on November 20.

“I am not a doctor and I have not spoken to anyone, but from my experience and from what I understood from Paulo, it will be difficult,” he added.
