Minister of Health Firas Al-Abyad confirmed today, Wednesday, that “the medicines and vaccines in the Karantina Center of the Ministry of Public Health are kept in the refrigerators of the Karantina warehouse, which was recently rehabilitated, and which enjoys optimal cooling conditions using solar energy and batteries.”
Al-Abyadh added in a statement issued by his media office, “What stopped working is the distribution center, which contains a limited amount of medicines, which were quickly transferred to refrigerated warehouses for safekeeping.”
He continued, “The ministry was forced to stop work at the center due to the inability to secure diesel fuel.”
And he added, “The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Firas Al-Abyad, is communicating with the relevant officials to find a quick solution to this situation, stressing the need for it not to be a temporary solution but rather a sustainable one to ensure that this crisis does not recur.”
