Al-Marsad newspaper – SPA: The official spokesman for the General Directorate of Border Guard, Colonel Misfir Al-Qarini, stated that the security follow-up to drug dealers and smugglers resulted in the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle (2.8) million amphetamine tablets, and the arrest of its future in cooperation and coordination with the General Directorate for Drug Control and the Security Forces of Facilities. Through the eastern borders of the Kingdom, attempts to smuggle (627) kilograms of the narcotic hashish, and (28) tons and (946) kilograms of the narcotic qat were thwarted across the southern borders of the Kingdom.

The official spokesman stated that the 36 accused of smuggling and receiving it were arrested, including (28) citizens, (8) violators of the border security system, (7) of Yemeni nationality and (1) of Ethiopian nationality, and they were arrested and legal measures taken once morest them.
