Four people were killed and others injured in a stabbing and ramming attack that took place Tuesday in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba, ambulance service volunteers said. And the Israeli police announced that a person armed with a knife wounded three civilians in a commercial area of the city, adding that it “suspects a terrorist act.”

The Israeli police said in a statement that “a man armed with a knife arrived at a commercial area in Beersheba and wounded three civilians with a knife.” She added that she was “suspected of a terrorist act.”
According to the police, the suspect stabbed a woman at a gas station and then drove his vehicle towards a person riding a bicycle before reaching a nearby mall. She indicated that the attacker got out of his vehicle and stabbed a man and a woman, before a passerby shot the attacker, whose fate has not been determined.
A spokesman for the Emergency and Ambulance Service, Zaki Heller, had previously confirmed that one death had been recorded, before announcing the death toll had risen to four.
In his first reaction, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who had just returned from a tripartite summit in Egypt that brought him together with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, confirmed his follow-up to the incident. In a brief statement, Bennett said he was “consulting with the Minister of Public Security and the Chief of Police.”
