She indicated that the attacker got out of his vehicle and stabbed a man and a woman, before a passerby shot the attacker, whose fate has not been determined.

A spokesman for the Emergency and Ambulance Service, Zaki Heller, had previously confirmed that one death had been recorded, before announcing the death toll had risen to four.

In his first reaction, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who had just returned from a tripartite summit in Egypt that brought him together with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, confirmed his follow-up to the incident. In a brief statement, Bennett said he was “consulting with the Minister of Public Security and the Chief of Police.”
