The Institute of Christ the King has just acquired a former convent south of Milwaukee (Wisconcin, USA), where the Institute has had an apostolate there for more than 15 years.

Set on more than 100 hectares of land in the city of Burlington, this former Franciscan convent has 70 rooms and a large chapel that can accommodate 300 people, as well as a refectory, several conference rooms and a auditorium. Its idyllic fields and woods border the Fox River, with several other bodies of water nearby, including Lake Geneva. The city of Burlington is conveniently located one hour north of Chicago O’Hare Airport and 30 minutes south of Milwaukee, so it is within a day’s drive of all of our apostolates in the central United States. The Institute prepares this property for year-round use for a number of mission-critical activities, particularly youth camps and spiritual retreats. The Institute also has houses in France, Germany and Switzerland which offer retreats according to the spirituality of Saint Francis de Sales. Our intention is that it particularly serve the needs of our international lay society, the Society of the Sacred Heart. For this purpose, it will henceforth be known as the Sacred Heart Retreat Center [Sacred Heart Retreat Center].
