Despite the continued support of the political elites of Russian President Vladimir Putin, nearly a month following military operation launched in Ukraine, but some dissenting voices began to rise.
In this context, an informed source told Archyde.com today, Wednesday, that the veteran Russian reformist politician Anatoly Shubis has left the post of Putin’s special representative for relations with international organizations.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also added that Schoebis, who previously served as former President Boris Yeltsin’s chief of staff, left the country, turned off his phone, and had no intention of returning.
The highest person to step down
It is noteworthy that Showbis is the highest-ranking figure to step down since the “special military operation”, as Moscow describes it, was launched in Ukraine. He was appointed to the position requiring “strategic development goals” in 2020, days following he resigned as head of state technology company Rosnano, which he has run since 2008.
Many Russians blame him for allowing a small group of big business to enrich themselves in the privatizations of the 1990s while leaving millions of Russians in poverty amid economic collapse and crises.

There is no opposition within Putin’s circle
It is noteworthy that although some artists, academics, and Russian oligarchs raised veiled criticism of the attack on the neighboring country, any opposition within Putin’s inner circle or among senior politicians inside the country has not yet appeared in public.
In this context, Tatiana Stanovaya, founder of the R. Politik Institute for Political Analysis, explained that there is complete consensus within the ruling class, despite some differences on tactical issues” of the military operation. .
Since the launch of the Russian operation on February 24, on the territory of the Ukrainian neighbour, the Russian forces have so far been unable, according to Kyiv and British and American intelligence reports, to control any major city in the country, while confirming the fall of heavy human losses among the Russians.
On the other hand, Moscow confirms that the operation is underway as planned, refraining from disclosing the number of soldiers who died there, just as the Ukrainian forces refrain from announcing the number of their dead.
