Special Advisor to US President Joe Biden on International Disability Rights, Sara Minkara, is currently in Morocco. She visited, this Thursday, the 2nd chance school oriented sports professions in Casablanca to promote programs around the social inclusion of young people with disabilities through sport.
During this visit, Ms. Minkara inaugurated a basketball court for people with disabilities within the 2nd chance school built as part of a partnership between Tibu Africa, the United States Embassy in Morocco, Ford Fund and the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports.
On this occasion, President Biden’s special adviser noted that her visit to Morocco is part of a tour of the countries of the MENA region, noting that since her appointment four months ago, she has set up a program focused on capacity building and training for people with disabilities, the integration of these people into decision-making institutions and the change of mentality and outlook towards people with disabilities .
