On the 6th (local time), the death toll from the large-scale earthquake that occurred in southeastern Turkey is approaching 200 in both Turkey and Syria, and continues to rise.
According to Archyde.com news agency, Turkiye authorities said 76 people were killed and 440 injured in the earthquake so far.
Heavy damage also occurred in northwestern Syria, which borders southeast Turkey.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) announced that the earthquake occurred at 4:17 am local time on the 6th, with a magnitude of 7.8 and a depth of 17.9 km to the epicenter.
Near the epicenter of the earthquake, Gaziantep Province in southeastern Türkiye and Kahramanmaras border the Syrian border and are home to hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees.
The number of confirmed deaths is expected to rise even more as many buildings have been destroyed by the earthquake.
