Russian scientists have invented head coverings to treat brain diseases, especially Alzheimer’s disease, according to Russian media.
This innovative device consists of a cap-like headpiece equipped with LED light therapy lights, and a smart sleep analyzer on the wrist. According to scientists affiliated with the Saratov National University, this device helps during sleep to remove toxic substances accumulated in the brain of people with Alzheimer’s. And this device will allow a healthy person to deal with the consequences of insomnia.

“In creating this technology, we relied on experimental studies at the university,” says Oksana Semiachkina Glushkovskaya, Head of the Department of Human and Animal Physiology at the university. “We discovered that the drainage system of brain tissue is activated during deep sleep in mice. This increases the formation of brain fluids that release toxic compounds with them.” And metabolites through the lymphatic vessels, especially beta-amyloid, and their accumulation causes the deterioration of brain cells, which causes Alzheimer’s disease.”
And she adds that the results of testing the device on animals showed that it accelerates the removal of harmful substances from brain cells by 60%.
It will test the device’s effectiveness in applying it to the human brain. And if the test is successful, this device will be put on the market for home use in the current year.
