A slight decline in annual inflation in the European Union and the Eurozone

Data showed, today, Friday, that the inflation rate in the European Union and the eurozone recorded a slight decline in November, on an annual basis.

Data published by the European Union’s Statistical Office (Eurostat) showed that the annual inflation rate in the eurozone reached 10.1 percent in November, compared to 10.6 percent in October and 4.9 percent in the same period last year.

She added that the annual inflation rate in the European Union amounted to 11.1 percent in November, compared to 11.5 percent in October and 5.2 percent in the same period last year.

It indicated that compared to October, annual inflation decreased in 16 member states of the European Union, while it remained stable in three countries and increased in eight countries.

It also pointed out that the energy sector constituted the highest contribution to the annual inflation rate in the eurozone during the month of November.
