The distinguished artist Samira Ahmed revealed a secret that was broadcast for the first time regarding the play “The School of Rioters,” which was shown in the 1970s.
Samira Ahmed confirmed in media statements that she was the first candidate to star in the play, before the late artist Suhair Al-Babli. She said: “At that time, I was busy with cinema, and theater did not interest me. I might not say the same things every day, and theater needs giants.”
She added: “Samir Khafaja called me and asked me to star in the play. I was embarrassed to apologize to him, but I told him that I did not like staying up late. I went to see the play and did not regret apologizing for it. I was happy with Suhair Al-Babli’s success in the role.”
It is noteworthy that the play “The School of Rioters” was the main gateway to the stardom of a large number of artists at that time, as it was the starting point for Adel Imam, Saeed Saleh, Ahmed Zaki, and Younis Shalabi to absolute cinematic heroism, and the late artists Hassan Mustafa and Hadi Al-Jayar also participated in its starring role.
