A scientific study reveals a common “vitamin” that increases the risk of cancer and its spread in the body

A recent American study revealed that a form of “vitamin B3” can increase the risk of serious diseases, including breast cancer.

According to the study, the commercial nutritional supplement, nicotinamide riboside (NR), also known as vitamin B3, has been associated with benefits related to cardiovascular, metabolic and neurological health in previous studies.

The study, published in the journal Biosensors and Bioelectronics, led by the University of Missouri (MU), found that high levels of nicotinamide riboside (NR) can not only increase the risk of breast cancer, but also increase the risk of it spreading to other parts of the body, including the brain.

In this context, Professor Elena John, associate professor of chemistry at the University of Missouri, said that some people take supplements (vitamins and supplements) because they automatically assume they have only positive health benefits.

“But very little is known regarding how they actually work, and this lack of knowledge has inspired us to study the fundamental questions surrounding how vitamins and supplements work in the body.”
