Firefighters are currently working on departmental road 23, known as the Mamelles route, between Petit-Bourg and Pointe-Noire. A school bus making the crossing caught fire.

50 students from a primary school in Baie-Mahault and 7 accompanying adults were on board. They were going out to the Parc des Mamelles.
The driver, seeing sparks stopped, made all the passengers get off, while waiting for help. No injuries are reported.

The children, shocked, were picked up by another transport. According to the rectorate, the district inspector and the director of the establishment organized “the return of students to their school in Baie-Mahault“.

A listening unit will be set up to support those in need.
