A Saudi writer narrates the details of her exposure to harassment and reveals the action she took against the harasser

Al-Marsad newspaper: Writer Kholoud Al-Ghamdi revealed, today, Thursday, the details of a harassment incident she was subjected to on the road, and it ended with the police before moving to the judiciary, which may issue a ruling that includes defamation of the accused if he is convicted among other penalties.

Al-Ghamdi, who holds a doctorate in international relations and political science, said that someone pointed his finger at her in an obscene gesture in the street, before she turned to the police, who arrived at the accused only a few days later, to start a new stage in the case.

Al-Ghamdi explained, through a tweet on her Twitter account: “A person pointed to me a week ago with an obscene gesture in the street, and I saved his plate number, and I reached the nearby police station, and I received a call yesterday from the criminal investigation that they reached the person and asked me to come to complete the procedures.”

She indicated that her police report included an accusation of sexual harassment, verbal assault and abuse.

She explained that the harasser is a young man, as she said regarding him: “God guides him. Unfortunately, he put himself and his father in an inappropriate place, especially his poor father.”
