A Saudi woman wins a leadership position in the International Astronautical Federation

The International Astronautical Federation (IAF) announced that the representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Engineer Mishael Al-Shammari, won the position of Vice President of the IAF.

Al-Shammari won following her candidacy for the position and winning the vote once morest fourteen candidates from all over the world, to be the first Saudi woman to achieve a leadership position in the largest international space organization.

The representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia won the votes of the members of the Federation because of its enhanced vision for the development of the space sector globally, and its contribution to the development and strengthening of the directions of the International Astronautical Federation.

It is noteworthy that the office of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) includes 12 Vice-Presidents, and is also made up of elected and appointed staff.

He undertakes many tasks, most notably recommending and supervising the arrangements for the meetings of the Union, preparing the agenda for the plenary sessions of the General Assembly, and supervising the preparation of the annual financial report of the General Assembly.
