A Saudi prince criticizes a report on the killing of Sherine Abu Aqleh in an American newspaper

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – A report published by the American newspaper The New York Times regarding the killing of Al-Jazeera journalist, Sherine Abu Akleh, sparked an interaction between activists on social media.

The Saudi Prince, Abdul Rahman bin Musaed, published a copy of the newspaper’s report in a tweet on his official Twitter page, commenting: “Not a week has passed..! Rather, from the first day, the ancient (New York Times) defending principles, human rights and freedom of the press formulate its title that the journalist Sherine Abu Aqleh (killed) in the passive form without referring to who killed her..!even though the journalist is a Palestinian (American)!..what a fake your slogans and your double standards!”

The Israeli military said it was “not possible” to determine the direction from which Al Jazeera journalist Shirin Abu Aqleh was killed, following earlier saying it was “possible” that “Palestinian gunmen” had killed her, with IDF Chief of Staff Major General Aviv Kohavi saying , in a statement: “The Palestinians fired heavily at our forces, firing indiscriminately in every direction. Unlike the Palestinians, the IDF soldiers shoot professionally and selectively… At this stage it is not possible to determine which shot was hit.”

The Palestinian National Authority, Al-Jazeera network and Qatar had accused Israel of killing the veteran Palestinian-American journalist who was covering an Israeli raid in the West Bank city of Jenin on Wednesday morning.
