A rescue operation was launched on the Danube for the sailor who fell into the waters of the river. The border police are looking for the man on an area of several kilometers.
“The border police were alerted by telephone from Orșova Captaincy regarding the fact that a crew member from a ship under the Bulgarian flag had fallen overboard, in the Danube, between river kilometers 950 and 958.
They are searching the Danube, in the area of Orșova, with a boat.
The man may have fallen into the waters of the river upstream of the Serbian lock, according to his colleagues, who noticed that the sailor was missing.
The ship had not carried out a control upon entering Romania. We are talking regarding a boat that carries out transport on the Danube.
Until now, it is only known that this man who fell into the Danube has Bulgarian nationality. The mission is ongoing and difficult, the water is cold and waves have already formed. With every minute that passes, the chances that the man will be found alive decrease”, reported Antena 3 CNN correspondent, Adriana Drăghici.
