Decidedly, the artists of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean have the rating on the program “Canada’s Got Talent” this year. After the passage of violinist Sébastien Savard, it was the turn of singer Jeanick Fournier to impress the judges on Tuesday evening, when she interpreted “I Surrender” by Céline Dion.
The 49-year-old woman was entitled to the famous “gold buzzer”, which gives her direct access to the semi-finals, which will take place on May 3 and 10.
“I don’t believe it yet. I listened to it once more I don’t know how many times last night because I hadn’t seen anything at all. Today, once more this morning, I am in shock,” she admitted on Wednesday.
Only two of the 18 candidates chosen by the judges will advance to the grand finale. If however she is not part of this selection, she might be saved by the public. She also invites viewers to support her.
“The very evening of the show, you have to be listening. You have 24 hours to vote,” she explained.
In 2012, his appearance on the show “The Voice: the most beautiful voice”, in France, had been announced too early in Quebec. The production had then renounced its participation. Despite everything, Jeanick did not give up and continued to accumulate his appearances on stage, in Quebec. She is now reaping the rewards of her efforts.
“What I want to convey to people as a message is that, in life, when you are due for something, that you are really ready and surrounded by a team of fire as I am presently, this what is due to you comes back to you. What I want is to be on a stage and sing for the rest of my life. I have a message to deliver, I have emotions to give people,” she confided, moved.
Jeanick hopes to be able to represent Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and all of Quebec by winning this great adventure of “Canada’s Got Talent”. She has a chance to win $150,000 and the chance to perform at Luxor in Las Vegas. She would thus get closer to her dream of perhaps singing with Celine Dion, who knows?
“Sky is the limit”. I’m ready to go anywhere, I stay positive. I will win this contest! We rush into the pile!”, she exclaimed.
The singer, known for 15 years as “the other Céline”, is preparing a brand new show. “Five divas, one voice” will be presented on April 29, at the La Saguenéenne hotel in Chicoutimi.
Several other dates should be posted on his page Facebook later, because since his performance on Tuesday, requests have been pouring in!
