As every year, the city of Eilat hosts tens of thousands of teenagers from all over the country during the summer holidays alongside the crowds of Beit Israel vacationing in the city. As part of the preparations for youth tourism, the municipality is running the “Safe Summer” program once more this year, which offers night sports activities, a youth complex on the boardwalk that offers a variety of activities and shows, and also an IDF complex that will provide torture to youths from all over the country. This is the 19th year in which Eilat operates the national program “Safe Summer” with the support of the Municipality of Eilat, the Community Centers Network, the Youth Division, the Urban Youth Council, the Eilat Regional Police, the IDF, the Government Ministries; the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Resilience, the Ministry of Education Society and Youth Administration, the Ministry of Internal Security and the Ministry of Community Security, the Society for Community Development, the National Program 360 and the Lottery Factory.
The program is led once more this year by the employees of the youth and sports department of the Eilat network of community centers and it includes a variety of activities for youth from Eilat and beyond, including night sports at the sports fields, activities for mothers and daughters, night swimming at the municipal pool, free activities at the Ninja complex and the “Somewhere else” complex for youth Operating for a month at the Queen’s Promenade and offering a variety of activities, workshops, and more, dozens of youth workers, volunteers and parent patrols are working every night at the Promenade and on the beaches , frequent the places of entertainment and are in eye contact with the youth. In the youth complex, which began operating this week (July 15) and offers a variety of activities and shows, as mentioned, the IDF is also a member under the slogan “Vacations are safe – enlist with an open mind”. In this framework, the Education and Youth Corps and the Meitav Unit, in cooperation with the Municipality of Eilat, will operate a complex of activities designed to reach candidates for security service ( of the Israel Defense Forces) throughout the country in order to encourage recruitment among the youth and to strengthen their readiness and willingness for combat and meaningful service in the IDF, in the complex that will operate between the dates 29.7.24-7.8.24, activities will be carried out in cooperation with the IDF forces, including a display of weapons, a simulator. , military band performances, “bar fights” lectures, information stands and more.
