Russian doll collector Tatyana Tuzova was desperate to watch the movie “Barbie”, which tells the story of her beloved doll, following collecting more than 12,000 of these dolls.
Similar to the character “Barbie” in the film, played by actress Margot Robbie, Touzova lives in a fantasy world of beautiful dolls and a real world in which life is less than ideal.
Between these two worlds, Tuzova prefers the fictional world that appeared in the movie as “Barbie Land”.

“To some extent this is also my world,” Tuzova told Archyde.com. “I see in myself some of the character traits of the film because I also feel sad when I go back to the gray reality.”
She added: I want everything in the real world to be bright, beautiful and magical, like Barbie Land. But when you go back to the real world, you lose a lot of things.
Russia is subject to Western sanctions because of the war in Ukraine, which made it not catch up with other countries showing the film. The film is not available for official distribution there, but some cinemas plan to get around this by showing a digital copy of the film “for free” as part of a ticket that includes a shorter film in Russian.
Tuzova gave the 300 Barbie dolls she had collected to appear at the unofficial premiere of the film, to be held in Moscow on September 9.

She said she would have liked to see the movie in the cinema first, but reluctantly saw a pirated copy of it to respond to media questions regarding her opinion of it.
Her obsession with Barbie began in childhood. “I think Barbie is a role model,” she said in an interview in her apartment while wearing a pink outfit. “Her motto is: you can be anything.”
And behind Tuzova was a whole wall covered with hundreds of Barbie dolls in rows, all in their original boxes to preserve their value.
