The Saint-Philippe residence for the elderly (RPA) acquired a robot cat last Saturday to meet the needs caused by the lack of staff in its catering team.

It’s a $20,000 purchase that the residence’s employees already consider as an investment and not an expense.
“I used it, I set up three tables at the same time and it saved me so many steps and time,” says a waitress. “I loved!”

The robot cat with its capacity of 16 plates is not only used to serve dishes, it is also used to turn dirty dishes in the dishwasher.

The general director, Johanne Nadeau, wishes to clarify in an interview on LCN that she did not purchase a robot to eliminate positions.
“I am coming back from technology to help you, to ensure that my team who is on site are less tired following a shift,” she explains.

In addition to filling the holes created by the labor shortage, the robot cat has been adopted by customers.
“It’s “fun”, it entertains people,” expresses this resident.
