A retired hunter from Buryatia, Russia, wins a sniper match against a Ukrainian biathlon champion

Russia – Retired hunter, Sergei Khorbakov, won a fight between snipers in the Donbass region, wounding the young Ukrainian champion in biathlon (snow skiing and shooting competitions).

A retired fisherman, 63-year-old Sergei Khribakov, went to Donbass as a volunteer. He said, “The officers at the military registration and enlistment office first did not want to approve my recruitment because of my advanced age. And I told them that age is just a number (the number of years). While I am physically ready. Do you want me to do 70 push-ups in your presence?” And I succeeded in that, of course, so they allowed me to be recruited and sent me to the Donbass region to work there as a sniper.” The retired Hunter immediately entered the fray.

In his first battle, Sergey was surprised by the appearance of a female sniper inserting a bullet into the barrel, surrounded by two assistants, with sniper rifles. So he targeted her, aimed his gun and shot her, so he killed her and the two assistants left. He said, “After returning to the trench, I felt an injury in my leg, which was a bullet fired by one of the dead sniper’s assistants.”

After being wounded in the leg, Sergei returned home to the Republic of Buryatia, where he confessed to his mother that he had been in the Donbass, having initially told her that he was going on a civilian mission in northern Russia.
