A restaurant in San Jose was robbed for the seventh time – Telemundo 48

The owners of a San Jose restaurant are asking the community and local authorities to step in and help after their establishment was robbed for the seventh time on Saturday.

The robberies, which have occurred over a period of weeks, have left Monica Levi, owner of the Funny Farm restaurant, bankrupt.

“This is the third time we have been robbed in less than three weeks,” he said.

Levi believes that he is the person because they wear the same cap and modus operandi. According to Levi, the thief also knew where the office was.

Security cameras captured the thief breaking into the establishment at 4:30 a.m. and using a large power tool to cut through the safe.

Funny Farm owner Ron Levi said the man was unable to access the safe because he left without finishing the job, but they did not have any money in the safe.

Since the first robbery, they no longer leave money or anything of value in the restaurant and in this Saturday’s case, the only thing the thief managed to take were a few bottles of wine.

In addition to everything they stole, Ron and Monica said the physical damage also cost them dearly.

The Levi’s have already paid $10,000 in damages for broken windows and a broken door, among other things.

But they don’t know what to do about the robberies that occur constantly.

“We believe this is not a coincidence and that there is a potential that this is someone who knows the operation and knows about what is going on at Funny Farm,” said Domingo Candelas, council member for San Jose’s District 8.

Candelas said local leaders have contacted restaurant owners and told them they do not believe the case is isolated.

“We are working very closely with the police to increase the number of patrols that are in the area and that are there at night,” said Candelas.

The Levi’s have installed a security system, but they are still afraid of what is to come.
