President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, issued Republican Decree No. 356 of 2022, appointing Walid Gamal El-Din as head of the General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal for a period of one year, starting from August 12, 2022.
It is noteworthy that Walid Gamal El-Din was the Executive Director of the Suez Canal Economic Authority from January 2020 and then Vice-President of the Authority for Investment and Promotion Affairs by a republican decision issued in May 2022.
Gamal El Din is a seasoned Investment Executive with over 25 years of experience in investment management, with a proven track record in investment banking, money management and real estate development.
The General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal is seeking during the current period to implement its strategic plan 2020-2025, which aims to localize targeted industries that enhance the competitiveness of the authority globally, as well as meet the needs of regional markets from these industries, in addition to the efforts made during the last period in the green fuel sector to localize the industry Green hydrogen in the economic zone, coinciding with Egypt’s hosting of the COP27 Climate Change Summit next November.
