Johnny Pizarro, assistant to the film crew of the series ‘Law and order: organized crime’, died following a confused shooting that occurred this Tuesday in Brooklyn (New York, USA) while an episode was being recorded, local media report .
The 31-year-old man was sitting in a car when, around 5:15 (local time), an unknown person opened the door of the vehicle, hit him in the head and neck and shot him with a firearm, and then run away.
Pizarro, who had been hired as outside personnel to secure parking spaces, was pronounced dead at a hospital within an hour. It is not clear if the attacker, who has not yet been arrested, knew his victim, nor for what reason he wanted to kill him.
Police said they are looking for a thin man who was wearing black pants and a black hoodie when he fled the area. To find his whereregardings, he requested citizen collaboration.
“We were very saddened and shocked to learn that one of our team members was the victim of a crime this morning and was killed,” said a spokesman for NBC, the television network on which the series is broadcast.
He also assured that the company is collaborating with the local police in the investigation of what happened. “Our hearts go out to his family and friends, and we ask everyone to respect his privacy,” he added.
