A rare large tornado has killed 8 people near Myanmar’s capital

The tornado formed around 6 p.m. and raged for about 40 minutes. It destroyed 232 houses, said Thet Paing Soe of the charity Doh Lewe.

Charities took 128 people to hospitals, he said.

Large tornadoes are rare in Myanmar.
