A rain of praise falls on Joshua Roy

There is only one word to describe Joshua Roy’s performance once morest the Americans: wow.

Wow, wow, wow and wow once more. Simply.

The hope of the CH was by far the best player of his team, ending his evening of work with a harvest of two goals and two assists. The club’s spark plug last night was him.

The Quebecer’s contribution to the Canadian team is felt and we can see that his teammates appreciate him a lot. The star of the tournament, Connor Bedard, did not hesitate for a second before throwing flowers at him following the match:

With Canada getting their ticket to the final, the team had to name their top three players of the tournament following the game. And, Roy was rewarded because of his performances, being part of the select group alongside Connor Bedard and Logan Stankoven.

That says a lot regarding how he is appreciated by the coaches. And it’s completely deserved too, we agree.

It’s impressive and you have to admit. After all, Joshua is a fifth-round pick…

We really see since his first participation in the CH training camp (2021) that he is progressing in all facets of the game. He seems to be faster on his skates, has a good size and is involved in the 200 feet of the ice skating rink.

Yesterday, he especially impressed with his defensive play and his performance on the penalty kill.

“He can do it all!” said TSN analyst Mike Johnson. And seeing him fly on the ice at the Scotiabank Center in Halifax, it’s hard not to agree with Johnson’s comments.

More and more, we are entitled to wonder whether the main interested party would not have a chance of evolving on a top-6 in the NHL sooner rather than later.

Canadian League scoring champion in 2021-22 (119 points), 18 points in 13 WJC experience games, 43 points in 26 outings this year in the QMJHL…

He produces everywhere he plays and that’s what’s interesting regarding him. He does everything the right way and that’s what makes him such an important player for Junior Team Canada right now.

Let’s not forget that Joshua turned 19 last August and he still has lots and lots of time to progress and develop. Patience is key…

But right now, it’s hard to say he’s not on the right track.

Could we see him alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield in the near future, as Michel Villeneuve wonders?

Now he’s one to watch today, as Canada play the gold medal game tonight once morest the Czech Republic. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The bronze medal match will be played in the followingnoon and will start at 2:30 p.m.

A lot of

– Good news.

– I imagine the beer was good.

– Oh good?

– Look at the differential!

– Shame.
