Representative Walaa Al-Tamami, a member of the House of Representatives, said that the health system in Damietta governorate is “collapsed”, noting that a decision was issued to establish Damietta General Hospital, but it has not been implemented so far, as simple works were carried out to suit the validity of the soil and were completely stopped, saying: “Everything is needed.” It is ready to establish the hospital now, and the delay is unjustified.”
During the presentation of a request for briefing on the lack of hospitals and the inability of doctors and medical supplies during the parliament’s plenary session, in the presence of the Acting Ministry of Health, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the parliamentarian demanded the completion of the Mental Health Hospital in New Damietta, which began work more than 25 years ago, on an area of (17,250 m). ).
The member of the House of Representatives added that the Mental Health Hospital in New Damietta was established more than 25 years ago to treat addiction, in addition to outpatient clinics, receptions and laboratories, noting that it serves the governorates of eastern Delta, calling on the Minister of Health to quickly complete the operation of the Mental Health Hospital.
For her part, Representative Sahar Sidqi, a member of the House of Representatives, reviewed the health sector problems in Qena, stressing that the governorate is not on the health map, and it lacks the least services and the people suffer to obtain health services.
“Sidqi” added, during today’s plenary session, during discussions of requests for briefing and public discussions in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health, that there is complete paralysis of the health sector in northern Qena due to the failure to complete the Abucht General Hospital, the failure to complete the Naga Hammadi General Hospital, and the failure to complete the Deshna Hospital, and these hospitals serve millions of people. Citizens do not find any response to their cries.
Sahar Sidqi thanked the political leadership and a decent life, which contributed to a number of construction, and called for the completion of these hospitals, where people suffer and go to the governorates of Sohag and Assiut to search for the least services that are not available in their governorates.
Meanwhile, Representative Ahmed Ali Ibrahim, a member of the House of Representatives, called during the parliament’s plenary session, the government, and the charge d’affaires of the Ministry of Health, to visit the Marj district to find out the health situation in the region, especially as it is a densely populated area with nearly 2 million people, where it suffers from a lack of hospitals and medical supplies. And there is a dire need to establish a hospital serving the entire district.
Ahmed Ali Ibrahim, during a presentation of a request for briefing on the shortage of hospitals, said that President Sisi called on the government to visit the Marj district, to solve and develop the region’s problems, noting that nearly 16,000 square meters of land of social solidarity were provided to establish a hospital in the Zakat Foundation area. He called for the necessity of providing the necessary facilities to establish the hospital and legalizing its status so that the meadow has a public hospital serving millions of citizens.
