It’s not just the behavior of the potato that changes, the producer explains that one of the benefits of eating potatoes can be joy.
“If you eat a lot of it, you find the good mood, because there is an antioxidant that makes you happy”.
Maxi-Sol acquired a potato harvester worth nearly three-quarters of a million dollars to facilitate the harvesting process and deal with the lack of manpower in the fields.
“It greatly improved the speed of the harvest,” explains the potato producer. “It also improves the comfort of our employees. Before, we ended the season at the chiropractor because we were often in torsion.
When questioned by our journalist Dominique Talbot on the popularity of potatoes, Mr. Brodeur did not hesitate in confirming that there is always an appetite for potatoes.
“Per person, there is less consumption, but when we think of our super poutine, known internationally, we realize that it is a food that is affordable for people and that is unbeatable.”
Consumers can expect a slight increase in the price in stores, but the producer is sure that the product will not lose popularity among buyers.
