Dr. Heba Kotb, a marital relations consultant, confirmed that pregnancy affects a woman’s sexual health, explaining that some women are terrified of engaging in intimacy, while others are completely repulsed by intercourse.

Kotb said during her hosting of the “Bouduh” program, presented by the media, Amr Al-Leithi, that the gender of the fetus may have an impact on the sexual desire of some pregnant women.
The marital relations consultant explained that pregnancy usually increases the sex drive of the pregnant woman, due to the passage of a percentage of the male hormone “testosterone” through the placenta into her bloodstream.

She added that the decrease in sexual desire in pregnant women may sometimes be caused by hormonal disorders experienced by the body during this period, which leads to a feeling of lethargy and mood swings.
The woman’s sexual desire was confirmed to regain its balance following 6 weeks of giving birth.
