A giant layer of snow descended in the village of Esto-Sadok, no one was injured.
A powerful avalanche descended on February 20 in the Sochi mountain village of Esto-Sadok. According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Krasnodar Territory, a layer of snow touched a protective net and a snow cannon. There were no casualties. The situation is under control.
According to the ICU Sochi, the avalanche descended along the mudflow diversion in the area of the bobsleigh track – the fence and communications were damaged.
Very heavy snow will continue in the mountainous area of Sochi until the end of the day on February 20. In the mountains at altitudes above 500 meters above sea level, avalanches are dangerous, the press service of the Sochi administration reports.
Residents and guests of the city are advised to refrain from hiking in the mountains, as well as take all necessary precautions. It is forbidden to drive to the mountain cluster in cars not equipped with a winter set of tires.
