A police officer injured during the arrest of two suspects in Waterloo

An officer was injured on Thursday evening during the arrest of two suspects in Waterloo, local police learned on Friday. While carrying out a traffic check in the Chenois district, police were attacked on Thursday around 11 p.m. by two young people from Waterloo, aged 26 and 27 respectively.

The suspects left the scene before returning on foot. They then exhibited a telescopic baton in an attempt to hit a policeman. Known very unfavorably, the two individuals were then apprehended. They were very violent during their arrest. Deprived of freedom, they were still at the Waterloo police station on Friday noon, awaiting a decision from the Walloon Brabant prosecutor’s office. The injured policeman suffers from bruises.
