Police officer Carlos Contino explained it in his statement at the trial for Fernando’s crime. He said that when they attended to an altercation around the bowling alley, they received a request: “Guys tell us ‘come, come, they are hitting a boy on the floor’.” Like his colleague Basualdo, he recounted that when he arrived they found Fernando on the floor.
When making the first inquiries, they told him that “there had been between 7 and 8 boys, one with dreadlocks, a black shirt, who had blood on their hands.” And he went to Buenos Aires avenue, which had “little light”, to look for them.
“By chance, we saw four or five. We stopped them. We put them once morest a fence, we asked them what they were doing, and I see that there are no dreadlocks or long hair, as they had told us, nor torn shirt. They told us that they lived at around, at the entrance to the forest, from the hotel on the left, first, second house. They gave us the information, none of them matched what they had told us and we let them go,” Contino said.
