Train traffic between Leuven and Weert-Saint-Georges, in Flemish Brabant, was interrupted on Friday evening following a person was hit, said rail infrastructure manager Infrabel.

The accident occurred Friday evening shortly following 7:00 p.m. near Weert-Saint-Georges.

Traffic is interrupted between Leuven and Weert-Saint-Georges in both directions. Buses have been deployed to ensure the connection between the two municipalities.

Rail traffic should not resume before 10 p.m., warns Infrabel.
