A person jumps from the Dinant viaduct and interrupts the movement of trains

This Wednesday morning, a new suicide took place at the Dinant viaduct. A person threw himself into the void near the railway tracks. She unfortunately passed away. Obviously, the anti-suicide barriers installed did not prevent the drama.

The consequences of this gesture are significant since train traffic was interrupted between Dinant and Gendront-Celles. Passenger and freight trains were affected by this incident. Shortly before noon, it had partially resumed. According to Infrabel, traffic is restored on one of the two tracks. By 4 or 5 p.m., traffic should be normalized and both lanes will be operational once more.

According to the SNCB, replacement buses are set up for commuters. It is advisable to listen to the announcements at the station, consult the notice boards or check the site www.sncb.be and the SNCB app for more information.
