A persistent cough for 3 months.. A child’s lung reveals strange secrets

It is very normal for children to suffer from coughing, for example because of the common cold, but a 5-year-old Paraguayan child baffled doctors after a continuous cough for 3 months.

While conducting extensive medical examinations to look for a possible cause of the coughing, paramedics were shocked to find a metal object in his left lung, as X-rays revealed that the boy had metal springs in his lung.

The boy’s condition is stable after the paramedics succeeded in removing the metal springs.

Doctor Carlos Morenigo said the procedure was complicated by the time the foreign object lodged in the boy’s lung as well as the damage it caused during that time.

Despite causing damage, Mouringo said it will likely get better as the boy grows over time.
