O Lapza promising application that allowed you to follow the races of the Formula 1 in a spatial and innovative way in the Apple Vision Pro, was removed from the TestFlight (Apple’s application testing platform) after a request from the Formula 1 Group, according to information from the UploadVR.
It is still unclear what motivated the group’s request, given that the application is based solely on web views of F1TV streams and even requires login so that only F1TV Pro subscribers have access to exclusive content. Lapz would also be completely free.
App for Vision Pro will allow you to watch Formula 1 races like never before
Those responsible for the app told the website that they are now working to secure a digital license that will allow them to maintain development focusing on Formula 1, but at the same time they are exploring the possibility of licensing other motor sports.
Based on a concept by artist John LePoreLapz will continue to be available (for now) for users who have already joined their tests through TestFlight, but (unlike what happens with apps already published on the App Store) it will expire on February 8, 2025, if nothing changes between now and then .

- How does Alex Turner plan to address the removal of Lapz from TestFlight and engage with the Formula 1 Group?
**Interview with Alex Turner, Co-founder of Lapz**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Alex. Recently, Lapz was removed from TestFlight following a request from the Formula 1 Group. Can you share your initial reaction to this development?
**Alex Turner:** Thank you for having me. Honestly, we were quite surprised by the sudden removal. Lapz aimed to enhance the viewing experience for F1 fans using the Apple Vision Pro, and we believed we were within the guidelines since we only utilized web views of F1TV streams.
**Editor:** It sounds like your app was designed to provide a unique viewing experience for F1 enthusiasts. Can you explain what features made Lapz stand out?
**Alex Turner:** Absolutely! Lapz was designed to offer an immersive experience where users could follow races in a spatial environment. We integrated features like real-time data overlays, interactive map tracking, and seamless access to F1TV content for subscribers. Our goal was to complement the traditional viewing experience and bring fans closer to the action.
**Editor:** There’s speculation regarding the motivations behind Formula 1’s request. Do you have any insights on that front?
**Alex Turner:** Unfortunately, we don’t have clarity on their motivations. We’re aware that our app required users to log in as F1TV Pro subscribers, ensuring that access was exclusive to them. We did not intend to undermine their content or business model, so it’s perplexing to us.
**Editor:** What’s next for Lapz? Are you considering any alternatives or pursuing discussions with F1?
**Alex Turner:** We’re currently evaluating our options. We believe in the potential of our application and enhancing the F1 viewing experience. We’re open to discussions with F1 to hopefully find a way to work together rather than in opposition. The feedback from our users has been overwhelmingly positive, and we want to ensure that their voices are heard.
**Editor:** Thank you, Alex, for sharing your insights and challenges. We hope to see Lapz back in action soon!
**Alex Turner:** Thank you! We appreciate the support and will keep our users updated as we move forward.
