The PEAC works to develop the enormous hydroelectric potential of Central Africa to meet all forms of electricity demand within and outside the ECCAS area, through the interconnection mechanism and the creation of free trade markets for electrical energy.

In total, 41 regional projects are in the PEAC portfolio. According to the permanent secretary of the PEAC, Atadet Azarak Mogro, the implementation of these regional projects would cost 14 billion euros, or approximately 9,157.6 billion CFA francs.
