A pastry chef from Lyon offers a diamond worth 1,000 euros to the customer who will find the bean in the shape of a four-leaf clover.
It’s a nice surprise for the start of 2023. A pastry chef from Lyon has hidden in one of his 8,000 galettes des rois, a rather special bean that will give access to a diamond worth 1,000 euros.
In the Maison Flochon pastry shop in the 9th arrondissement, only galettes are sold until Sunday, around 700 a day. And in one of them hides a bean in the shape of a clover. The pastry works with a jeweler from Lyon.
“They wanted to give us a diamond that we put in our cake. It’s not the diamond that we put in the cake, it’s a bean with a four-leaf clover marked ‘won'” , explains Guillaume Flochon, pastry chef at Maison Flochon at the microphone of BFM Lyon.
“It will make one happy”
The lucky one who finds the special bean can pick up the diamond directly in store.
“Our customers come because they want to eat our galette des rois. After that, it’s the little extra to please. If a customer comes with the clover, we’ll be happy to give him the diamond”, underlines- does he
And customers are delighted with this operation. “It will make someone happy” indicates a Lyonnais. “It makes everything that is Lyon business work and it’s a nice surprise for us”, rejoices a customer.
