An off-duty pilot intervened to help a Southwest Airlines pilot who needed medical attention during the flight.
What happened in the cockpit?
- In the radio archive recordings, the co-pilot is heard saying: “The captain became incapacitated during his flight (…) He is now in the back of the plane with the cabin crew. But we need to get him out in an ambulance immediately.”
- Southwest Airlines, the “rescue” pilot, stepped in without hesitation to help.
