American Airlines said that a passenger caused a commotion and delayed a flight at Honduras airport, when he stormed the cockpit and opened its window in an attempt to jump out, causing extensive damage to it.
According to Russia Today, Flight 488 was scheduled to depart from San Pedro Sula to Miami, but was delayed following this chaotic accident that caused damage to the cockpit.
“A passenger entered the cockpit and caused damage to the aircraft. The crew intervened, and the person was eventually apprehended by local law enforcement,” American Airlines said in a statement.

She said that the plane had been replaced by another, and the flight was scheduled to leave at 9:30 pm local time. The airline also thanked the flight crew for their “professionalism in dealing with difficult situations.”
The identity of the troubled passenger was not disclosed, and the reason for causing damage to the plane. There were no reports of injuries.
ABC News reported that the man ran into the cockpit, and was said to have damaged some flight controls, and tried to jump out of the cabin window, while the pilots were trying to stop him.
