A party of graduates, complaints about the gastronomic service and a racket: 20 injured and one pre-infarctioned

SANTA FE. Some 20 injured and up to a pre-infarctionedin addition to considerable material damage, caused a alleged scam of the gastronomic service at a party for graduates of a secondary school in EsperanzaLas Colonias department, 45 km west of this capital.

It happened at the beginning of the morning of last Sunday, when the graduation evening was taking place in the hall of the Center for Industry, Commerce and Residents of Esperanza (Cicae), a special event and expected by the 5th year students of the Normal School Nº 30 “Domingo F. Sarmiento”, to which the police put an abrupt end to the lack of control of the attendees and the lack of response from those in charge of the gastronomic attention service.

The result, unexpected in that city of 45,000 inhabitants, known as the First Agricultural Colony of the countrythere were 20 injured, most with cuts, abrasions and various traumas, product of the confrontations with those responsible for the catering, and a pre-infarctioned person who is still under observation.

Fifteen injured received medical attention in the same ballroom by the Emergency Medical Service, but the remaining injured were transferred to the Esperanza Sanatorium, one decompensated, who suffered a pre-infarction, and the others with various injuries.

The police, who intervened to control the incidents, put an end to the party around 2 on Sunday. but minutes before The lack of control took over the party, to such an extent that the waiters hired to serve the students, family members and guests began to leave the room where the celebration was held.

Even, the alleged manager of the gastronomic service was removed by the police in a patrol car to preserve his physical integritygiven the impetus in the claim of the attendees who had contracted what was supposed to be a Premium service, with a card whose average cost was 7000 pesos.

As in the interior, these parties are generally organized by parents and relatives of the graduating students, complying with all the requirements imposed by the municipality, not only for a party room set up, but also in hiring a service medical emergencies, additional security personnel, sound, drinks bar and gastronomic service.

It didn’t take long for the comments to go viral on social media. “We paid 7,000 pesos and we were starving, we had to beg them to bring us something,” said one of the guests.

The reception stipulated a bit of everything and they just brought some trays with very bad cold cuts, even a sausage that not even dogs might eat”, said a relative of a student, while another assured that “just around one in the morning, following the parents complained, the main dish appeared that had nothing to do with what the contract said, nor the dessert and not to mention the drink”.

Incidents at a graduate party in Esperanza, Santa Fe

The party began with the reception of the graduates and around midnight the gastronomic service began. But as the minutes passed, the situation began to become tense when the attendees warned that the gastronomic service would not comply with what was contracted, since a tray of cold cuts and some drinks had been delivered to only a few tables. This led to reproaches from relatives of the students to the person in charge of the contracted service and the waiters, which led to arguments first and attacks later.

Witnesses to the social gathering explained that some chose to take justice into their own hands and drank drinks from the service area, which led to a total lack of controlfor which reason the police personnel hired as additional summoned reinforcements, arriving at the place several patrolmen from the Radioelectric Command.

Yesterday and today the police actions continued, since several parents began to make complaints once morest the contracted gastronomic service.

However, there would be some specific issues that you have not yet found, such as, for example, the difficulties in finding those responsible for the contracted service. There is no company listed, but two alleged managers, who in the contract signed in June were listed as Hugo Belisario Baigorria and Luis María Marconetti, with addresses in Santa Fe capital. Nor was it possible to find precedents for both in the gastronomic field.

As it turned out, those named hired almost all the services for that party in Esperanza, both crockery and cooks and waiters.
