Participants in the dialogue session “Customs Innovations for Promising Future Generations” organized by Dubai Customs as part of the activities of the Customs Week recommended the importance of investing in young talents, promoting a culture of creativity and innovation in institutional work, developing an optimal environment to enable them, develop their skills and enhance their participation in all fields, in support of strategic plans. Mohammed Al Ghafari stressed that one of the most important priorities of Dubai Customs’ strategic plan is to focus on investing in young talents. of employees through academic and training programs and specialized workshops for all categories to lead the helm of customs work, to achieve the department’s strategy to reach the global level, and to be an example to follow in customs work, including a scholarship program in the Bachelor of Supply Chain and Customs, where the department’s employees are awarded, in particular The youth category, an opportunity to upgrade their educational qualifications and enhance their abilities academically in the customs and logistics field, as the number of beneficiaries of this grant reached 29 employees, in addition to the launch of a program to develop promising leaders in the department approved by the Institute of Leadership and Management in the United Kingdom. Another integrated program for leadership development has been designed. Its axes include mixing scientific and practical learning through three training modules, which are the innovative customs management, and the digitization of the operations management. customs, and agile leadership. The program has been accredited by the International Institute for Logistics and Transport Services, and the number of beneficiaries from the program has reached 32 employees.

For his part, Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Raisi said that the initiatives of Sharjah Customs in stimulating innovation are divided into several areas, including the development of an electronic platform that contributed to creating a space to receive innovative proposals, which are being sorted periodically, studied and referred to the competent departments to take the necessary action. The proposals include a number of innovative initiatives, including a mobile customs center, to simplify procedures, shorten time and reduce expenses, the smart inspection initiative, which aims to complete procedures using tablets, create an internal regulation for incentives to support innovation and innovators, and form teams and committees for development and creativity that include a group of young people to work on Involve them in decision making.
- Training services for citizens
For her part, Nadia Abdel Aziz referred to the role of the National Shipping Committee in motivating and empowering the younger generations by providing comprehensive training services to citizens in the shipping and logistics sector, as well as on-the-job training programs through the Nafel platform, in addition to holding an open day for employment companies to meet trained citizens, and this will help them. In order to secure jobs for them, we also see the National Committee for Shipping and Logistics Services also in this field as a link between citizens and the private sector in the field of logistics services.
Amjad Al-Qahtani discussed the initiatives adopted by the “Relo” office in coming up with innovations that support solving obstacles and strengthening work mechanisms, including holding semi-annual brainstorming meetings, encouraging innovative employees, as well as working to attract young professional cadres.
