a pale copy of Detroit Become Human?

Quantic Dream founder David Cage opens up regarding Star Wars Eclipse in a new interview. Will the game be a simple Detroit Become Human skin?

To wait until the very distant exit of Star Wars Eclipsethe Parisian studio Quantic Dream tells us regarding the ambitions of the game.

Will Star Wars Eclipse have its own identity?

Our colleagues from IGN were able to speak with David Cage, founder and boss of Quantic Dream, regarding Star Wars Eclipse. The next game from the studio that will be very different from their very last Detroit Become Human. Where this one was more in anticipation, it will be sci-fi for Eclipse.

We spent a lot of time imagining our world in 10, 15 or 20 years – what would technology look like? Do we think androids will be part of our society? I think Star Wars has a very different setting. Star Wars Eclipse will not be a pale copy of Detroit Become Human. The two games will be different, very different, although of course we will use what we have learned. But it will not be an imitation in any way, it will be a very different experience.

Further, the creator qualifies Eclipse as the “studio’s most ambitious project” and one “dream come true”.

They have become part of our culture, and somewhere of our consciousness as well. The creative ideas we had were also inspired by these films and others. So when we had the opportunity to contribute to such a monument of pop culture, it was a dream come true. So we didn’t hesitate for a second and we started. It is a very exciting project. And it’s our studio’s most ambitious project, for sure.

Not much is known regarding Star Wars Eclipse at this time other than rumors. According to Tom Henderson, Quantic Dream would have leak information to take the temperature on the direction taken by the developers. After business in which the company has been involved, it is possible that this major project will not see the light of day for several years.
