It is better to buy a watermelon weighing seven to nine kilograms, with many contrasting stripes and small orange-yellow spots, Lemysheva said. RIA Novosti.
She pointed out: “The owners of the long-standing and seasoned eating red watermelon, press on it with two fists, and the ripe fruit makes a clear and resonant sound, and the immature watermelon responds in a lukewarm and hollow manner,” advising to put the watermelon near the ear and press it a little, – the ripe fruit will rattle a little.
She added that watermelons should be stored in a place with a temperature between 10 and 15 degrees and a humidity limit of 80-90 percent. In general, watermelons can be stored for several months.
