An Egyptian nurse admitted that she volunteered to wash the body of a woman who died and her children refused to wash it or even bury it, but what she saw while washing the body made her feel merciful for the deceased.
The nurse, Samah Jaafar, said during her interview with the media, Dr. Amr Al-Leithi, in his program “One of the People” on Al-Hayat TV, that the Ministry of Health honored her, and she expressed her happiness with this honor.
Samah explained in the program, in which the star Tariq Lotfy also participated, that the idea came to her when she saw a post on Facebook that there is a woman whose mother died a day ago and she did not wash and was not buried yet because no one washed her,
And another post that a laundry asked 5 thousand pounds to wash the deceased Corona, and I found many children who were afraid of infection, so they left the father and mother dead a month in the hospital.
She added that one of the strangest cases that she met during the washing was the people of the deceased who refused to wash their mother or even bring her the shroud or a sheet for the jacket or a towel, even while washing the deceased mother was found while she was washing tears from her eyes.
And Samah added that her colleague was a nurse with her, and her son’s joy attended with her, and a week later I knew that she had died of Corona, and she recommended that I wash her, and this was one of the most difficult situations.
And the artist, Tarek Lotfy, who was a guest of Amr El-Leithi on the “One of the People” program, said that Samah is a hero and deserves appreciation from everyone, and we are humbled by what this Egyptian woman is doing.
The incident that nurse Samah talked regarding took place during the great spread of the Corona virus and the people’s extreme fear of transmitting the infection to them, which prompted many relatives to refrain from burying their dead,
Even the actors and actresses who died of the virus, their funerals witnessed a limited presence due to government measures that prevented mixing a lot, as well as the fear of the people themselves from contracting the virus.
