The announcement did not go unnoticed on social networks. « 15,000 views on Facebook », figures Emmanuel Naulin. The association Les Conscrits de la 10, of which he is president and which supports the festival A Night in Muscadet, formalized the holding of a new edition. It will be on October 25 and 26, in Mouzillon. “It’s rather unexpected, we didn’t expect so much positive feedback,” continues the manager, referring to the enthusiasm generated online. There is an expectation, a great fervor. »

A more modest budget

It must be said that the public has had to be patient in recent years: following eight editions, the festival was put on pause in 2019, a few months before the arrival of Covid. “We also had to take a break on our side,” admits the president, referring to the evolution of the family context within the group of organizing friends.

The issue was also financial, several editions of an increasingly gourmet festival – more than €213,000 budget for the 2019 edition, the year Patrick Sébastien came – had recorded a loss.

This return edition is counting on a budget, which has obviously not yet been decided, “much more modest”. With a change for this program on which the association has been working for almost a year: the festival will be held over two days, and no longer outdoors (“Natural grounds in Mouzillon have been removed”), but indoors.

As a result, rather than welcoming 5,000 people at once, the Night will be able to receive 1,500 people each evening.

“It’s a choice on our part to do something special. It’s a good compromise, starting with something a little smaller with a special rock and roll edition, where we were eclectic before. »

The menhir sweeps announced

For 2024, a first group has already been announced, Les Ramoneurs de menhirs, who had already “set fire” to the Night scene in 2014. With their Celtic punk, the four Bretons, who have been traveling across France since 2006, should still get the Mouzillon public moving.

“We mightn’t wait to start once more,” says Emmanuel Naulin who, despite the changes in the format mentioned above, does not forget what makes the “identity” of this musical event: “The festive and family side, the everything, centered around Muscadet. There will be quite a few quality food stalls, muscadet, gros-plant…”
