The National Association of Land Improvement, Irrigation, Drainage and Environment (ANAFIDE) hosted a Nigerian delegation, as part of the Irrigation Management Transformation Project in Nigeria(TRIMING). These Nigerian farmers arrived to inquire regarding Morocco’s proven experience in the field of irrigation.

Throughout this week, Moroccan experts were able to share Morocco’s successful model in terms of hydro-agricultural developments, water savings in irrigation, PPP project methods in irrigation, sustainable management of water resources, safety and maintenance of hydraulic structures. We will be delighted to renew this experience with our African colleagues, who share the same problem of sustainable irrigation management. For her part, Ms. Walson-Jack Didi EstherPresident of the Project Steering Committee TRIMINGand Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources assures: “the delegation that we are leading has been able to take full advantage of Moroccan expertise in this area, it is a good example for improving the management of water resources to increase the resilience of agriculture in Africa…”
Crowned with success, this visit enabled the Nigerian representatives to make several visits to several regions of Morocco. In particular those of Haouz, Sous Massa and Sais. Field visits were carried out, particularly in the management and remote control center of the bypass canal, works and irrigation equipment in the Haouz region, the perimeter of El Guerdane, mounted on the successful model of PPP in irrigation located in the region of Sous Massa, or the Project to safeguard the Plaine du Saiss.
