The latest operating system put on the market by Microsoft is therefore the successor to Windows 10 which has been baptized Windows 11. Launched last summer, the operating system will soon be entitled to a major update, whose goal is to convince skeptics to abandon Windows 10 for good.
For this, the new update should bring big changes to Windows 11 and bring some flagship options promised when the new system was announced. According to some notes intercepted by Tech Radar, said update should be available in the second half of 2022.
Windows 11 22H2 replacing Sun Valley 2
Previously, the new Windows 11 update was noticed by observers under the code name of Sun Valley 2. Now, it has changed its name according to information relayed by Tech Radar. Microsoft opts for the name Windows 11 22H2.
The real question of whether the update is going to carry that name permanently or if it’s just a new codename. Nothing is really sure on this side for the moment. Nevertheless, according to Windows Latestbehind this new choice of name hides a secret: that of the launch date of the update.
Thus, referring to their analysis, it appears that the number 22 in “22H2” refers to the year of launch of the new product which would be 2022. The “H2” part on its side would concern the period of the year planned to make it available. This would therefore be the second half of the year, following the month of June.
All this is for the moment only a simple theory which is far from being far-fetched. On October 5, 2022, it will be exactly one year to the day since Microsoft launched its Windows 11. It would therefore not be surprising to see the Redmond firm try to celebrate this anniversary by releasing a special update for the occasion. A bit like what she did in 2016 for Windows 10, Windows 11’s big brother.
An update and notable changes
Announced with insistence, since the beginning of the year, the 22H2 update should come add brand new features to Windows 11. The most anticipated of all is clearly the possibility of integrating Android applications directly into its Windows 11 interface. To do this, all you have to do is go to the Microsoft Store, download your favorite Android application and use it directly on your computer. .
Microsoft also intends to take advantage of this wind of change to breathe new life into some of Windows’ historic applications. These include Note Pad, Windows Media Player or even MS Paint which will find a new lease of life. Which, according to Microsoft, should convince most users to be tempted by the Windows 11 adventure.
The new 22H2 update should also bring big changes to the current Windows 11 interface. Thus, the Start menu, the control and notification center as well as the Windows settings will be completely overhauled. The office of the taskbar and other areas of the operating system will also be entitled to their little revolution.
