a new wave could well spoil the spring

While the French gave up the mask, the Covid-19 epidemic is picking up once more in many regions. A sixth wave of Covid-19 is expected and might well damage the spring.

Increase in Covid-19 contaminations in France

Since March 14, the French no longer need to wear the mask in almost all public places. The lifting of health restrictions is a relief for the French, who are happy to be able return to a near-normal life. However, while the sun is shining almost all over France, there are also many of them who ignore barrier gestures.

This negligence has thus led to a significant increase in cases of Covid-19 for several days. 81,283 new cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours, according to Santé Publique France. The better known Omicron sub-variant as BA.2 arrived in the country and has become the majority. If it is not more dangerous than the other viruses, it is however very contagious.

A sixth wave already arrived in France?

According to the first findings of the experts, spring might well be disrupted by a new wave of Covid-19. The French must therefore prepare now for a sixth wave. The next wave in Europe has begunsaid a researcher at the Scripps Research Institute in the United States Eric Topol on Twitter.

While France is just coming out of winter, temperatures still low promote the transmission of Covid-19. “The epidemic is on the rise once more“, alerted the Regional Health Agency in Occitania. Not to mention that the French must also be wary of the flu epidemic throughout the territory.

In order to protect themselves from Covid-19, all person “severely immunocompromised“must receive his fourth dose of vaccine. This concerns people recently transplanted, those on dialysis or even certain patients who suffer from lymphoma, according to the Dispatch. For others, it is important to maintain barrier gestures.
